TANGIBLY SUSTAINABLE

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, less than 10% of plastic is actually recycled and the rest piles up in landfills and oceans. This is why Ecologic emphasizes reduction plastic material at the source.

On the other hand, around 90% of fiber-based paper products are recycled. Why not use paper, a renewable, compostable, and easily recyclable material?

Sustainability

Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues. There is widespread evidence that plastic is contaminating our waters, wildlife and negatively impacting human health. Plastic packaging is a large contributor to the global crisis and the search for plastic-free packaging has helped to push the demand for fiber-based packaging.

Recycling rates for plastic are very low. By comparison, the recovery rate for paper and cardboard packaging is quite good and the network to recover them for recycling is well developed. According to the EPA, the recycling rates for paper and paperboard grew from 17% in 1960 to 68% in 2018.

Molded pulp packaging is part of a strong closed loop system – pulp packaging is made from recycled fiber materials and can be easily recycled after its useful life with other paper and cardboard materials.

  • MOLDED FIBER

Eco-Bottle uses post-consumer reclaimed fiber to create the
Eco-bottle's outer shell. This helps provide the Eco-bottle with
    structural stability and protection.

  • INNER LINER

    The Eco-bottle's thin inner liners
are made of PET, the #1 recycled plastic in the world. Having an inner
liner ensures that the product inside stays safe and sanitary.

The thinness of the inner liner allows us to use up to 70% plastic than
traditional rigid plastic containers, while still allowing for optimal
    recycling

  • UNIFY

Our molded fiber shells and plastic liners are then locked together using
interlocking outer tabs to create a functional and sturdy container
    ready to use!

No adhesives are used in this process because that can gum up the recycling process

    The Eco-bottle is born!

Paper Jars and Tubes

We take care to consider sustainability in every step of sourcing, production,
packaging and shipment.  The tubes are made with FSC certified paper, and the outer paper of all of our brown kraft paper tubes are 100% recycled. The adhesive used is rice glue, and the lining is soybean wax that is stable up to 140°F or 60°C. All of our tubes  are fully home compostable. The containers are food grade and comply with EU regulations for cosmetic container safety standards. Finally, we ship using plastic free, recycled materials that are recyclable and compostable.
